A rear-yard addition and interior renovation transformed a non-descript and neglected house into a light and airy modern home. The clean, direct lines of the new minimalist details bring out the best of the 1920's utilitarian construction. Doubling the size of the Kitchen, adding a new Master Bath and large, rear-yard deck layered a series of graciously sized spaces within and around the original, smaller-scaled rooms thereby creating a richer and more varied experience throughout the house. A new fireplace surround and custom mirror update the existing cabinets and period details in the Living Room.
