West 93rd Street Residence, New York, NY (2007)
The owners of a 2-bedroom apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan were able to acquire the 1-bedroom apartment next door in order to make a larger home for their growing family. The new apartment includes 3 Bedrooms, 3 ½ Baths, Living Room, Dining Room, Study/Guest Room, Playroom and Laundry. A narrow galley was combined with an adjacent service room to make a new, family-sized Kitchen with a central island. Modern details and materials were integrated with the older architecture and express the different histories of occupancy.
